Q-LAB-314

Q-LAB-314 is the I-314 training and red team laboratory for post-quantum cryptography. It allows technical teams to study the underlying principles, use the NIST algorithms in practice, evaluate implementations and carry out controlled attack exercises in an isolated environment.

Approach

Practical, evidence-based training

The platform combines theory with hands-on work using the actual algorithms and libraries, and documents the evidence behind each security estimate.

Interactive mathematics

Interactive simulations explain lattices, noise and the Learning With Errors problem.

Production tools

Laboratories use current versions of OpenSSL and the reference libraries.

Documented evidence

Each security estimate is presented with its source and level of maturity, including cases in which models and measurements differ.

Modules

Platform modules

01 · Training

Threat and fundamentals

Introduction to Shor’s and Grover’s algorithms and to the harvest-now-decrypt-later threat, followed by six interactive simulations: CVP, lattices, noise, LWE, Module-LWE and K-PKE.

02 · Simulation

Security estimator

Estimation of attack costs for the ML-KEM-512, ML-KEM-768 and ML-KEM-1024 parameter sets, validated against the reference Lattice Estimator.

03 · Laboratory

Practical laboratory

ML-DSA signatures, KEM encryption with AES-256-GCM, post-quantum X.509 certificates, hybrid TLS 1.3 (X25519MLKEM768), performance comparison with RSA and ECC, and integration examples.

04 · Implementation security

Implementation assessment

Comparison of libraries against NIST ACVP test vectors and testing of input validation. I-314 research has identified libraries that accept malformed public keys that other libraries reject.

05 · Red team

Controlled attack exercises

Capture-the-flag exercises based on published cryptanalysis, including nonce and seed misuse, timing side channels and weak hybrid constructions. Each exercise is completed with a flag, supporting evidence, root cause and mitigation.

06 · Executives

Q-Day tabletop exercise

A facilitated session of 60 to 90 minutes for 6 to 12 executives, using Mosca’s theorem to prioritize the systems to be migrated.

Evidence

Security estimates

Baseline classical security estimates for ML-KEM calculated within the platform, in bits. Participants can reproduce these figures in the simulation module.

Estimates are model outputs and do not constitute proofs of security. The platform shows each estimate with its source and level of maturity.

Audience

Target audience

The platform is delivered as a dedicated, isolated environment for each organization. Attack exercises are performed only on deliberately vulnerable test systems.

Cryptography and security engineers

Laboratories, implementation testing and red team exercises.

Architects and developers

Hybrid TLS, post-quantum certificates, performance and integration patterns.

CISOs and executives

Threat timelines, the Q-Day exercise and migration planning.
